Fall/Winter 2007

Charlotte Rampling, the English actress who became an icon of French film in the 1980s and 1990s, is the source of inspiration for the new season. The collection is dedicated to this famous femme fatale, paying tribute to her self-confident, sublimely erotic allure that is unfailingly coupled with a restrained, enigmatic and almost aloof air.

The most exquisite materials - cashmere, silk, velvet and the finest wools - are juxtaposed with leather, tweed, loden and fur. Bouclé skirt suits with patent-leather trim, tweed coats featuring delicately interwoven gold threads, and feather-light, tulle evening coats that dazzle with sequins and crystals are just some of the highlights in this magical material mix.

Sports apparel such as jogging pants, tank tops, jeans and sneakers are now part of every basic wardrobe. No other recent trend has transformed the prevailing perception of fashion more radically than the fitness movement. The ESCADA SPORT collection lives and breathes this trend, and has once again drawn its inspiration from the whole wide world - as well as the 1970s and 1980s.

The U.S. cult film Saturday Night Fever inspired the New York Dance theme. Gray cotton stretch tops and workout pants or leggings are paired with pretty little pink tops or satin blousons. Wraparound tops, frilly blouses and jeans make the look street-smart.

The New York vibe also sets the tone in the second theme. Black and gray do duets in stripes, checks and glenchecks, while details tune in with 1980s rock’n’roll: metal zippers, silver stars, studs, and more.
